LA Rope Dojo at Threshold: Communicating with Rope
June 4, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Every month, the LA Rope Dojo hosts a class at Threshold in North Hollywood. Our topics change each month but always focus on a combination of theory and practice, giving students not only technique, but also the background behind various ties and how and when to use them for maximum effect.
From the sound of the rope hitting the tatami mat, to the feeling of jute being slowly dragged across the skin, sense and sensation are often overlooked forms of communication with rope. In this class, Master K and Zetsu will share what they have learned both here and in Japan about using many different elements of rope to communicate with your partner. As students of Yukimura Haruki, the grand master of caressing rope, they will share some of the lessons imparted by Yukimura sensei in understanding how rope can be better understood as a medium for communication beyond the simple act of tying your partner.
Come join us for a fun and, hopefully, eye opening discussion of rope and sensation.
