Thursday, March 16th, LA Rope hosted Murasaki sensei with Iroha for an advanced workshop on Yukimura Ryuu.

We began the evening with a ceremony remembering Yukimura sensei who passed away a little over a year ago.  Participants were invited to light incense in memory of sensei.

Throughout the evening, Murasaki sensei discussed many of the finer points of Yukimura’s one rope gote and demonstrated advanced ties.  With a focus on safety, feeling, and communication, the workshop provided in depth and focused instruction and helped advance our understanding of Yukimura sensei’s unique style.

Many thanks to Iroha for serving as our demonstration model and to Alice Liddell for providing outstanding translation for the event.
