Come explore the classic foundations of kinbaku and see some extremely rare art and books, including original Ukiyo-e prints, Japanese books from the 1950s and 1960s, and original Japanese art from Ozuma, Soroyama, Itoh Seiu and Yoshitoshi.

Master “K” and Zetsu will be opening up their collections of original artwork, rare books, and prints to help illustrate some of the historical context and origins of contemporary kinbaku. Keeping with the theme of “origins” we will be demonstrating and teaching ties based on hojojutsu, the original martial art that serves as the basis for modern kinbaku.

There will be plenty of time to tie, hang out, socialize and just enjoy the art as well.

Founded in 2011, the LA Rope Dojo is dedicated to providing safe and traditional training in the Japanese art of kinbaku.
